The Wakefield Concert Band, South Kingstown’s own Community Band, formed in 1894, and has evolved in countless ways through it’s over 100 year history! We are a talented, dedicated group of professional and serious amateur musicians from South Kingstown as well as every part of Rhode Island, and nearby Connecticut and Massachusetts. We perform for many town functions, (Christmas Tree Lighting, Memorial Day Ceremony), as well as our own Holiday and Spring Concerts at SKHS, and our 6 FREE outdoor 'Summer Series by the Sea!'
From classical music, to jazz, pop, and traditional marches, we feature different facets of our multi-talented ensemble, as we perform Sprightly Marches, Patriotic Songs, Broadway Show Tunes, and Rock & Jazz favorites that will keep your toes tapping, and put a smile on your face!
We also have small ensembles that go out into the community, so please contact us if you would like music at your special occasion!
