Please join us in extending congratulations to Dime’s own Jeff Lazzaris, Corporate Officer, Senior Credit Analyst and Abigail St. Louis, Assistant Branch Manager, Colchester, on graduating from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management. In addition to finishing this program, Jeff received the prestigious John C. Shortell Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement as one of top two students among the graduating Class of 2024 and joins a select group of outstanding students who have received this honor. The Connecticut School of Finance and Management (CSFM) provides an opportunity for junior management personnel and other key employees of Connecticut’s banking industry to obtain a more comprehensive knowledge and awareness of banking theory, practices and procedures, capital markets and management functions which will be of substantial value in their preparation for new and greater responsibilities at or within the management level. This two-year program is designed to increase the knowledge of the students in their own specialties and at the same time introduce them to a wide range of banking topics. Upon conclusion, the students will have developed a broader perspective of the industry, a more enlightened view of their own bank and most importantly, a better awareness of their individual capacities. Congrats, Jeff and Abigail on your achievement!

We invite you to watch our commercial, titled “Join Our Community” below. Alongside members of the Dime Bank team, the commercial features the award-winning Norwich Free Academy Wildcat Marching Band. Led by Band Director Kristen Motola, the 60+ member band played their long-standing fight song as a soundtrack to the commercial and was a visual (and audible) representation of the community.

We are pleased to announce that two new residential lenders have recently joined our experienced team of lenders as the bank broadens its presence in greater Hartford to meet the evolving needs of the local community.  Thomas Tarascio has joined Dime Bank as Assistant Vice President, Residential Loan Originator, and will serve the greater Hartford market from the bank’s Vernon location. Tom joins Dime with 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, he served as Consultant Vice President for Guaranteed Rate Inc. In this role, he streamlined onboarding for loan officers to ensure a smooth transition and adherence to the company standard. Tom is a resident of Vernon, CT. Dan Ursin has also joined Dime Bank as Assistant Vice President, Residential Loan Originator and will be serving our greater Hartford market from Dime’s Glastonbury branch. Dan joins Dime with 11 years of experience in the lending financial services industry. Prior to joining Dime, Dan served as a Senior Home Advisor at Own Up, where he was responsible for facilitating purchase transactions for clients and ensuring a smooth connection between brokering services and the best paired lender for each scenario. Dan is a resident of Enfield, CT. “Over the past few years, purchasing a home has become a more challenging process due to rate increases and lack of inventory in many local markets,” said Nick Caplanson, Dime’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Having lived and worked in the area for a number of years, both Tom and Dan provide a specialized level of local residential lending knowledge and we are excited they will be able to share this collective experience with Dime Bank’s customers.”
